When choosing the correct hole size for your order, you will need to measure the width of your dreads/braids. Take a ruler and a dreadlock/braid and measure the width of it from one side to another. 
An ideal dreadlock/braid cuff hole diameter should be 1-2mm shorter/smaller than the thickness of your dread/braid.  So, if you have 8mm thick dreadlocks/braids, a 6mm-7mm hole size should fit perfectly.
This method should result in the cuff sitting snug in your hair without falling out.
